New Method To Check Smartphones 4G LTE Band And Their Frequencies With MTK Engineering Mode
We are now saying goodbye to 3G network in Nigeria because in now in the country, almost all the network now supports 4G LTE network accept Airtel NG which am sure will join the 4G LTE network after the must have faced with intimidating.
The annoying thing that could happen to you is, when you see you friends surfing the net at a high speed then you are just like an invitee to a meeting. It's not just purchasing a 4G smartphone from Julia, long, Gerabest or from the nearest phone shop around you, but what matters there is if you phone supports 4G LTE network.
You will be much more disappointed, after walking into Glo, Mtn office to swap your line to 4G LTE sim or purchased Etisalat sim so could rock on 4G speed just to find out that your phones do not support 4G LTE.
For now, in Nigeria MTN, GLO, Etisalat, Ntel, Smile 4G and Interc are the network that supports 4G LTE band network in Nigeria while Airtel is yet to join the line
Most 4G smartphones in Nigeria use band 3, 4, 7, 20 or 28. I have made a list of the band your preferred network use. check out the list below:
=>MTN 4G LTE, supports band 20 (800MHz) and Band 7 (2600MHz)
=>Glo 4G LTE, supports band 28 (700MHz)
=>Etisalat 4G LTE, supports band 3 (1800MHz)
=>NTEL 4G LTE, supports band 8 (900MHz) and Band 3 (1800MHz)
=>Spectranet and Swift, supports band 40 (2300mhz)
=>Smile, supports band 20 (800mhz)
From what we can see abo.,ve the lower frequencies tend to perform better in rural areas with fewer masts and they can travel through walls better with decent coverage while the higher frequencies do the opposite, but they can cope with more users in populated areas connecting at once.
These are technical terms that I don’t think you need right now, whatever frequency your preferred network has, you should get some decent upload and download speed. You could download 1GB file under 4-mins, and this is a fact!

For those that are not using MTK devices, do ask via the comment section before you make you next purchase and also let us know the next 4G smartphone you want to purchase so you will be helping out in the smartphone you should purchase.
