Pandora Plus now available to all users as Pandora unveils rebranding
Last month, Pandora revealed Pandora Plus, a new paid subscription service that lets users drop ads and listen offline for $5 a month. When Pandora Plus was announced, the company said it would be rolling out all Android and iOS users over the “coming months,” but today, it’s announcing that the service is available to everyone.
In addition to ad-free listening, Pandora Plus will also net you extra skips and replays over the standard free tier. Pandora Plus also features a new offline mode that will automatically switch to one of your top stations when it notices that your connection isn’t up to snuff.
Pandora Plus is replacing Pandora One, and all One subscribers will be automatically migrated to Pandora Plus without having to do anything extra. Interestingly enough, Pandora Plus is launching on the same day that Amazon announced a new service called Music Unlimited, which will provide Amazon Echo owners with unlimited tunes for $4 per month. This may all be one big coincidence, but if we had to guess, we’d say it probably isn’t.
On top of Pandora Plus becoming available to everyone, Pandora is also showcasing a rebranding of sorts. It doesn’t appear to be a massive rebrand, though the app’s icon is getting a new look, which you can see above. That new app icon is rolling out today, while more vibrant branding will be launching on Pandora’s webpage and on other devices over the rest of the year.
